    • Each day of the training is recorded and made available to each training participant at the end of the training day via email.

  • Required Books:  

    • Reading material is not required for this training, as we will be focusing on practice, personal refinement of your breathing and meditation.

    Recommended Books: 

    • Yoga Vasisitha of Valmiki translated by Vihari-Lala Mitra, edited by Ravi Prakash Arya (we sell at our studio)

    • Prasna Upanishad

    • Asana, Pranayama, Mudra Bandhas

    Recommendation during the training: 

    • Try to cut out processed foods/sugars, drinks

    • No garlic or onions

    • Vegetarian diet

    • Bring lunch for each day

  • Absolutely. In a Teacher Training, there’s only so much time we can dedicate to helping you refine your breathing and better understand the depths of a personal practice — considering the priority of a teacher training is to give you adequate skills to teach people and help them.

    Developing efficiency and efficacy in your breathing is not something that really comes from a teacher training. Proper breath control comes from specialized instruction, methodology and lots of practice.

    All in all, this training is designed to provide you with practical knowledge that keeps you safe and practicing in a way that elevates your health and consciousness.

  • 12-1:30 pm: Pranayama & Meditation
    1:30-2 pm: Lunch
    2-3:30 pm: Lecture & Q&A
    3:30-4:30 pm: Breathing Refinement
    4:30-5 pm: Pranayama & Meditation

This training will take place at Yoga Grace, located in beautiful Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada.

  • We do not offer onsite accommodations, however, there are places to stay and campgrounds available in the area that are very well priced. We recommend checking out AirB&B and VRBO to see what is available.

  • You can arrive via plane to either Comox (YQQ) or Nanaimo (YCD) airport, or by ferry into Nanaimo if coming from the mainland or arriving into YVR.

    • Qualicum is about a 40 minute drive from Nanaimo

    • Qualicum Beach is about 50 minutes from Comox Airport.

Engel is founder of Pranayama Sadhana, school of pranic studies and co-owner of Yoga Grace studio in Qualicum Beach. Specializing in pranayama and yoga philosophy, Engel was born with the gift of Vedic knowledge. Bringing a calming presence and thoughtful approach to his classes and trainings, Engel fosters an inclusive and welcoming environment for students of all levels.

Living between Bali & Qualicum Beach, Canada, Engel is a father to three boys and a devout husband to his yogini wife.
