Your Purpose, Redefined

We often wonder what our purpose is.

And as perfect of a question this is, it’s also a question that stirs up confusion. So let’s put it aside for now, and approach it differently.

Be like life! Because when when you’re out there helping people who are feeling hurt or lost, you’re being like life! It’s one of our assignments; helping wipe away the tears. So are you sensitive to the needs of those around you?

• Your friends & family?
• Your neighbours & community?

Because if you look around and listen, you’ll see that many times behind a pretty smile, there’s a person who’s hurting. She’s alone and his life is in a rut.

So when someone is struggling, reach out.

• Be a healer
• Be a restorer
• Be a listener

Take time to wipe away the tears.

Your job is not to judge. Your job is not to figure out if someone deserves something, or to decide who’s right or who’s wrong. Your job is to:

• Lift the fallen
• Restore the broken
• Heal the hurting

Too often we become focussed on our own dreams, our own challenges, and how we can get our own miracle. But I’ve learned something that is more important:

I can become someone’s miracle.

Everywhere you go you have the ability to dispense the goodness of life. For instance, if ever around me you’ll be encouraged. You may have made mistakes, but I’ll tell you life is bigger than any mistake you’ve ever made. You may have wasted years of your life making poor choices, but I’ll tell you life still has a way to carry you to your final destination. You may have had an addiction since you were a teenager, but I’ll let you know that by copying & living like the most high can break any addiction and set you free. That’s what it means to dispense good in this world.

• You lift the fallen
• You encouraged the discouraged
• You take time to wipe away the tears
